The 21-year-old sailor crashed just east of Inaja Memorial Park around 3:20 p.m. Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol and the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

The man was airlifted to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where he died shortly before 7 p.m., the Medical Examiner reported.
